Valve diagnostic monitoring systems in the oil and gas industry capture and analyze data from each valve operation and provides targeted alerts on the valve health – without assistance from personnel or potential impact on real-time control integrity. Many equipment actions like these in the oil and gas industry were previously made by humans, but are now executed by automated equipment systems.
An example of this is valve proof testing, conducted to detect shutdown valve problems ideally before they occur. Designed around our inductive encoders, we have worked closely with our client – one of the world’s leading valve automation and communication systems companies – to develop a customized solution for valve diagnostics that delivers precise, intelligent control and diagnostics, to plant operators working in an ATEX environment.
Offshore oil and gas exploration can pose challenges for automation, demanding robust environmental performance in harsher environments. Low temperature co-efficient, high MTBF and use of corrosion-resistant materials are important in meeting system requirements. When fitted into suitable certified enclosures, our sensors deliver the specifications required for continuous and reliable operation in these harsh environments.
