Rotary Variable Inductive Transducers (RVIT)

Rotary Variable Inductive Transducers (RVITs) are a form of position sensor for non-contact rotary measurement. RVITs have a solid track record for reliable operation in tough conditions. OEMs from the aerospace and oil & gas sectors often consider RVDTs as their preferred choice for safety-related and hi-rel equipment including servo feedback devices for electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic actuators.

Zettlex Technology vs RVITs

Zettlex inductive encoders utilise very similar physical principles to RVITs and are sometimes referred to as RVITs. Zettlex inductive angle encoders and RVITs are able to achieve similarly high levels of reliability and longevity, however Zettlex inductive encoders are typically more accurate than RVITs of comparable diameter and are available in a wider range of formats. Unlike RVITs, there is no need for external electronics – all electronics are included within the stator of a Zettlex inductive encoder. Zettlex inductive encoders are typically supplied with a DC signal and output a digital, absolute signal.
