Why does IncOder offer so many versions of SSI?

SSI (Serial Synchronous Interface) was first intended as a communications standard especially suitable for absolute position sensors. As time has passed, different manufacturers have developed their own ‘flavors’ of SSI. We offer the various different types so as to be compatible with other equipment such as motor controllers. SSI1 accounts for >70% of all the types of SSI that we sell.
